Raised in Dallas and now serving clients throughout D.C., Maryland, and Virginia, I carry the legacy of my mother’s “Standard of LINDA”—love, integrity, nurturing, determination, and authenticity—into every dish I prepare.

Meet Chef Lauren Green

Hello, my name is Chef Lauren Green. I am the CEO of Tastes Like Texas, where we curate custom dining experiences with authentic southern cuisine to celebrate life’s big moments. I have been cooking for more than 20 years in intergenerational settings, learning our traditions to ensure that our culture is passed down to future generations. I offer personal chef services for dinner parties, intimate candlelight dinners for two, and as a vacation chef for those traveling in the D.C., Maryland and Virginia area.

I was born and raised in Dallas, TX, in a family that used food to show hospitality, comfort, excitement, and more. We cooked for holidays, rainy days, and regular days. The goal in every interaction is to leave people feeling full in spirit and in body, and that is the mission I bring to my business. I want to bring that energy to the important moments for you and your loved ones.

My mother, Linda Green, had quite a reputation for dinner parties and themed events in Dallas, and she was known to have high expectations and follow through. As her daughter, I hold myself to that same standard of excellence, and for the sake of brevity, we call it the standard of LINDA.

L is for loving. As I noted above, my family used food as a way to show love to the people around us. I bring that same love to your events and experiences to ensure follow through beginning to end.

I is for integrity. It is easy to cut corners in this industry, and I can commit to you that I will serve you with the same quality and care that we agree upon.

N is for nurturing. My experiences are as much about the person as they are the food. We will be nurturing to the soul as well as delightful to the tongue. 

D is for determined. I am determined to put together the best experience alongside your desires and budget for this event. 

A is for authentic. As I have noted, I make authentic southern food and I can accommodate for any dietary restrictions or preferences. 

Holding myself to this standard in business, and in quality, I promise you, whether it’s your birthday, anniversary, annual holiday party– or you just need a pick me up, I am more than happy to help plan a dining experience that will be just what you need.
